Glaciers

This day was all about the physical landscape; the objective being to determine the role that ice played in the evolution of the landforms of the Cadair Idris area. (Click for map) The steep walk up from Dol-y-Cae left the boys exhausted, although by the time we had reached the top of the hanging valley it was time to start interpreting the landforms.

The Year 12 students had not studied glaciers before, so we returned to the beach at Borth for a competition to see who could construct the best 3D model of the Cadair Idris area, and interpret the features from memory.
