Analysing population dataPeople everywhere!

THERE ARE OVER 6 BILLION PEOPLE alive today! In the next 50 years the number will rise to over 9 billion. But one fifth of the world's population does not have enough to eat.

This exercise is to help you understand how and why the worlds' population is changing. We will be looking at statistics for two countries, India and the UK.

Part one teaches you how to use a spreadsheet to discover how fast population is growing in two different countries, and in the whole world.

Part two introduces you to population pyramids.

Part three is a quiz to see how much you have learned.

Part four At the end of the exercise you will hand in a word-processed document containing a variety of graphical presentations and a written description of your findings.
