TASK:

1) Copy each photograph and paste it into a Word document.

2) Add labels to explain each of the features that we thought of to stop the river from from flooding.
Say what we did and why.

Features we thought of:
Putting rocks along the river bank
Strengthening outside bank of the river
Planting trees
Straightening and widening the river
Building a spillway

Other ways to stop rivers from flooding are:
Making them deeper (dredging)
Building dams
Raising the river banks (levees)

3) Follow each of these links to find an example of different methods of preventing rivers from flooding. Copy the picture into your Word document and add a description of your own to explain how each one works.
